Ray Winstone is in early negotiations to play the villain in director Darren Aronofsky's Noah. The filmmaker also considered numerous other actors, including Val Kilmer, before deciding on Ray Winstone.

Little is known about the character, although it is said the director wanted an actor with considerable grit and size to face Russell Crowe's Noah. If a deal is finalized, he will join a cast that also includes Saoirse Ronan, Douglas Booth, Logan Lerman, and Emma Watson. Jennifer Connelly is still in the running to play Noah's wife, although a final decision hasn't been made yet.

Darren Aronofsky is directing from a screenplay he co-wrote with Ari Handel, with John Logan providing the most recent revisions. No production schedule was released.
