From Strike Back to Banshee to The Knick, Cinemax has built an exciting slate of dramas over the past few years, and this summer brings the most thrilling one yet. The pilot episode of Outcast, the new exorcism drama series from Robert Kirkman (The Walking Dead), is now available to stream for free across a variety of platforms in the U.S. two full weeks before the series premieres on Friday, June 3 at 10pm ET on Cinemax.

Starting today, the full first episode is available to stream for free on YouTube, Facebook and WatchOutcast.com. HBO and Cinemax subscribers will also be able to sample the full episode from Max On Demand and HBO On Demand, in addition to the authenticated streaming services Max GO and HBO GO, and via Free On Demand and authenticated affiliate portals. Additionally, the episode will be available for free on Playstation 4 consoles.

Based on the Skybound/Image comic title by Robert Kirkman and artist Paul Azaceta, Outcast stars Patrick Fugit as Kyle Barnes, who has been plagued by demonic possession all his life and has sequestered himself from those he loves for fear of causing greater hurt. Now, with the help of Reverand Anderson (Philip Glenister), a West Virginia evangelist who believes he is a soldier in God's holy war against the forces of evil on Earth, the young man embarks on a journey to find answers and regain the normal life he lost. But what Kyle discovers could change his fate - and the fate of the world - forever. Gabriel Bateman (Stalker) stars as Joshua Austin, an eight-year-old who lives across town from Kyle. To his family's dismay, he appears to be in the clutches of demonic possession, but there's something very different about this possession and its connection to Kyle Barnes.

Other cast members include Wrenn Schmidt (HBO's Boardwalk Empire) as Kyle's adopted sister, Megan Holter, a child psychologist who makes it her mission to fix the people around her. Reg E. Cathey (HBO's The Wire) portrays Rome's Chief of Police, Chief Giles, who has seen enough to know there's some truth to his friend Rev. Anderson's assertions about demons. Kate Lyn Sheil (House of Cards) stars as as Kyle's former wife, Allison Barnes, who has lingering doubts about what happened in their marriage. Julia Crockett (Law & Order: Criminal Intent) portrays Kyle's mother, Sarah Barnes, whose apparent mental illness tainted his childhood.

The cast is rounded out by David Denman (13 Hours) as Megan's husband, Mark Holter, a by-the-book small town cop whose temper can get him in trouble, and Brent Spiner (Star Trek: The Next Generation) as Sidney, whose dapper appearance and smiling demeanor hide malevolence. Outcast is created and executive produced by Robert Kirkman, and executive produced by showrunner Chris Black. The series is produced for Cinemax by FOX International Studios (FIS), and also executive produced by David Alpert, Sharon Tal Yguado and Sue Naegle. Take a look at the full pilot episode, which was directed by Adam Wingard (The Guest), below, and stay tuned for more on Outcast.
