@bawnian-dexeus My guess is they'll just remake everything with this type of world...

@narrator@ROFLitschristian All good points. I'm on the same boat. Studio just wants another billion dollar hit, and recreating AIW with Oz is their way of doing it. The question that comes to mind, are they planning on making a sequel to the origina Oz or make spinoffs if this movie performs the same way as AIW?

Too bad Alice in Wonderland was ever made at all. That movie sucked. This cannot be any worse than that. In fact the aesthetic of this film is already miles above that muddy and muddled Tim Burton mess.

@narrator Ha, exactly. The main turnoff for me from the beginning was the visual aspect. Okay, you have to same guy from Alice in Wonderland, doesn't mean this movie has to look like its effing next door neighbor! I was horrified with the first trailer. It's downright ugly to me. It really saddens me because Oz is one of my all-time favorites and I was actually looking forward to this one. But I guess it's just another missed opportunity.

Market over-kill. I agree with @2movieguys about that. I'm still excited for this movie though (just 1 more week away now). :-)

@corey See I feel like Alice in Wonderland was a train wreck because it tried to give Johnny Depp the starring role and Alice was boring as could be. I feel like in Oz, the story is what is prominent here which is why they went with a B-list cast. I think Oz will be some good fun.

This movie looks terrible. I'm surprised it's getting good reviews. Looks as bad, if not worse, than Burton's Alice in Wonderland. The thought sends shivers down my spine.

@ROFLitschristian - I'd normally agree with @bawnian-dexeus in that the graphics of a big budget film might be enough to draw a matinee from most moviegoers, but even the graphics, as expensive as they are, aren't enough to justify anyone wanting to see this. In fact, they're a big part of my problem with this would-be Alice in Wonderland spin-off. If anyone sees this, it should be out of curiosity alone, because the graphics look... over kill? Ridiculous? All of the above?

Unfortunately, I have to see this with a friend because she insists that it'll be good. Consider yourself lucky, man.

It's one thing to waste your money on this in the first place, but why waste even more for IMAX?
