A short story collection written by James Franco comes to life in the new trailer and poster for the upcoming adaptation Palo Alto. The author stars as Mr. B., a single father and soccer coach who strikes up a scandalous affair with one of his players, the shy April (Emma Roberts). Gia Coppola, the granddaughter of Francis Ford Coppola, makes her filmmaking debut, adapting select passages from James Franco's book for this upcoming drama, which co-stars Val Kilmer, his son Jack Kilmer, Nat Wolff, Zoe Levin and Chris Messina. We also have an early cut of the trailer before it hit film festivals last year, and a new poster for this Tribeca Film release, in theaters May 9.

Palo Alto Poster

Shy, sensitive April is the class virgin - a popular soccer player and frequent babysitter for her single-dad coach, Mr. B. Teddy is an introspective artist whose best friend and sidekick Fred is an unpredictable live wire with few filters or boundaries. While April negotiates a dangerous affair with Mr. B., and Teddy performs community service for a DUI - secretly carrying a torch for April, who may or may not share his affection - Fred seduces Emily, a promiscuous loner who seeks validation through sexual encounters. One high school party bleeds into another as April and Teddy finally acknowledge their mutual affection, and Fred's escalating recklessness spirals into chaos.
