According to Variety, Paul Giamatti will star opposite Edward Norton in The Illusionist for Bull's Eye Entertainment.

Giamatti's finalizing his deal to join the pic, which will reunite him with his Sideways producer, Michael London.

The picture is skedded to begin production April 1st in Prague.

"Illusionist" is the story of a magician in turn-of-the-century Vienna who falls in love with a woman who becomes engaged to a prince. He then uses his powers to win her back and undermine the stability of the royal house of Vienna. Neil Burger directs.

Burger also adapted the screenplay from Steven Millhauser's short story, "Eisenheim the Illusionist."

Giamatti will follow The Illusionist with Kieran and Michelle Mulroney's Paper Man, produced by Guymon Casady and Richard Gladstein.

Upcoming for Giamatti are 20th Century Fox's Robots and the Universal/Miramax release Cinderella Man, with The Hawk Is Dying in post-production.
