In a story from The Hollywood Reporter, Paula Abdul is going to star as a judge on the new prime-time talent competition series Got to Dance for CBS.

Abdul will be a lead judge, executive producer, creative partner, mentor and coach on the show that is based on the U.K. hit.

The show is being called broadcast's first all-ages, all-genres dance series -- "from ballroom to break dance, bhangra to ballet, and tap to tango." The acts are going to compete for a panel of judges, with viewers being allowed to vote for their favorites during the semifinals and finals.

Last year Abdul announced, through Twitter, that she was leaving American Idol. She was immediately courted for a bunch of unscripted projects.
