Albert Brooks Joins Will Smith in NFL Concussion Drama

Albert Brooks is in talks to star alongside Will Smith and Alec Baldwin in Sony's Untitled Football Project, with Gugu Mbatha-Raw just closing a deal to join the cast as well.

The project is based on the GQ article Game Brain by Jeanne Marie Laskas, which follows Dr. Bennett Omalu as he became the first doctor to find chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE) in an NFL player, and brought his discovery to the public's attention.

Albert Brooks in Talks to Join Illumination's Untitled Pets Project

Albert Brooks is in negotiations to board a currently untitled animated pets project that Universal and Illumination Entertainment's are putting together. Hannibal Buress, Lake Bell, Bobby Moynihan and Ellie Kemper will also voice roles in the comedy adventure.

Louis C.K., Eric Stonestreet and Kevin Hart are making their animated debuts in the project, which tells the story of what a group of pets in a Manhattan apartment do while their owners are at work. The building's canine leader, Max (Louis C.K.), finds his pampered life interrupted when his owner brings home Duke (Eric Stonestreet), a slob that is lacking in personality. The duo finds themselves out on the streets of New York, where they have to set aside their differences to take on a bunny named Snowball (Kevin Hart). The bunny has plans to build an army of abandoned pets that are out to turn the tables on humanity.

Albert Brooks Confirmed to Return as Marlin in ‘Finding Nemo 2’

The Disney Pixar sequel Finding Nemo 2 is beginning to take shape with Albert Brooks finalizing a deal to reprise his role as Marlin from the 2003 classic Finding Nemo.

We first reported on the sequel back in June, when director Andrew Stanton signed on to take the helm. Ellen DeGeneres entered talks to return as the forgetful fish Dory in November. The deal has since been finalized. It isn't known if Alexander Gould will be back as Nemo.

Albert Brooks has joined what is shaping up to be an all-star cast in Nicolas Winding Refn's thriller Drive. The comedic actor/director/writer will join Ryan Gosling, Bryan Cranston, and Carey Mulligan in this upcoming adaptation of James Sallis' popular novel.

This news comes from Deadline, who revealed that Albert Brooks will be playing against type as Drive's badass heavy. The film follows a stunt driver (Ryan Gosling) who takes part-time work as a getaway driver and soon finds himself in danger. Albert Brooks will play New York mob boss Bernie Rose, a dangerous crime figure who gets transplanted to Los Angeles.
