Alex Pettyfer Exposes Truth Behind Channing Tatum ‘Magic Mike’ Feud

Fans of Magic Mike have wondered what became of Channing Tatum's co-star and on-screen progeny Alex Pettyfer. He is no where to be seen in Magic Mike XXL. And now we learn, that happened with good reason. Alex Pettyfer has finally opened up about his longtime feud with leading man Channing Tatum. And that his bad reputation and his inability to pay rent have contributed to his former co-star hating his guts.

Alex Pettyfer appeared on Bret Easton Ellis'podcast to discuss the rumors surrounding his very bad behavior. He wanted to clear the air, and clarify some of what has been said about him in the press. He claims he never burned his house down. And he also says that he never expressed a loud outburst of anger on the set of Magic Mike after learning that his co-stars were making more money than he was. Though, he admits that he walked far away from the production to scream out his frustrations. Apparently, he was so loud, those working on set that day still heard his cries of resentment.

Warner Bros. has acquired the domestic distribution rights to director Steven Soderbergh's upcoming male stripper drama Magic Mike.

The screenplay from Reid Carolin is based on star Channing Tatum's early life as an exotic dancer. He will play mentor a young up-and-coming dancer played by Alex Pettyfer. Other cast members include Matthew McConaughey, Joe Manganiello, and Olivia Munn.

‘Magic Mike’ Gets Alex Pettyfer

Alex Pettyfer has signed onto star in Magic Mike, a drama inspired by actor Channing Tatum's actual days as a male stripper. In a bizarre twist, Channing Tatum will portray the older mentor to Alex Pettyfer's protege.

We first reported on this project a few weeks ago, with Steven Soderbergh attaching himself to direct, despite his supposed retirement. Reid Carolin is writing the screenplay, which follows a young male stripper (Alex Pettyfer) and the relationship he forms with an older mentor (Channing Tatum). Channing Tatum first started stripping at the age of 19, and the story is said to take place during a crazy summer filled with booze and women.

‘The Paperboy’ Eyes Sofia Vergara, Bradley Cooper, and Alex Pettyfer

Precious director Lee Daniels has apparently settled on his next movie, a project entitled The Paperboy, which he wants Sofía Vergara, Bradley Cooper, and Alex Pettyfer to star in.

The story revolves around the lazy son of a newspaper publisher/editor who gets dragged into a murder investigation by his big brother, a seasoned journalist. They try to determine whether or not the man sentence to death row for the crime is truly responsible. Alex Pettyfer will play the younger slacker, Bradley Cooper will portray the big brother journalist, and Sofía Vergara will play the wife of a death row inmate. Offers have been made to all three actors, although it isn't clear if they have accepted the roles or not.
