The current trend is to call for more prominent female superhero roles in Hollywood blockbusters. The Crow remake is taking that one step further by making it's lead villain a very nasty woman. Andrea Riseborough, best known for her recent appearances in Birdman and Oblivion, has entered talks with Relativity to take on the bad guy character Top Dollar.
The Crow remake is said to be a more accurate adaptation of James O'Barr's original graphic novel. Though, Top Dollar started off as a guy, the baddest of this franchise's bad guys. The story follows Eric Draven, who returns from the grave to avenge his girlfriend after an attack leaves them both dead. The evil responsible is part of a large syndicate that is run by Top Dollar. In the 1994 original starring Brandon Lee, the part was played by Michael Wincott.Read More
