‘Chris Tucker Live’ Is Coming to Netflix in July

Chris Tucker Live marks the first project that Chris Tucker has starred in and produced through his own company, Chris Tucker Entertainment, bringing on board Phil Joanou to direct. Chris Tucker is an international award-winning actor and comedian best known for playing the role of Detective James Carter in the Rush Hour film series. He became a favorite on Russell Simmons' HBO Def Comedy Jam in the 1990s and came to prominence in his first starring role, the 1995 film cult classic Friday starring opposite Ice Cube.  In 1997, Chris Tucker was an executive producer and starred in the hit movie, Money Talks with Charlie Sheen.

Chris Tucker co-starred in the 2013 Oscar- nominated film Silver Linings Playbook with Robert DeNiro, Jennifer Lawrence and Bradley Cooper. To date, Chris Tucker has starred in films that have collectively grossed over one billion dollars in box office sales worldwide. Tucker, who is currently on his successful 2015 U.S. comedy tour, has received rave reviews from all over the world, including Asia, the United Kingdom, Australia and the Middle East. Outside of comedy, Chris Tucker is a dedicated humanitarian, spending much of his spare time traveling around the world, doing philanthropic work to make a difference through the Chris Tucker Foundation.

Chris Tucker Eyes a Remake of French Comedy ‘The Intouchables’

Silver Linings Playbook returns Chris Tucker to the big screen with his first role in five years. It's been a long wait since 2007's Rush Hour 3, but the comedic actor doesn't plan on taking another long break. He's already eyeing his next project, an American remake of the French comedy The Intouchables, which follows an ex-con (Omar Sy) who takes a job caring for a wealthy quadriplegic (François Cluzet).

The Intouchables has earned over $400 million worldwide, starring François Cluzet and Ceasar award winner Omar Sy. While the black ex-con caters to the wealthy white man in the original, it is not known if the same will hold true for the remake. It is very possible that Chris Tucker will be taking on the role of the injured millionaire now bound to a wheelchair.

Ice Cube wrote the original Friday, along with DJ Pooh, but it isn't known who is writing this untitled sequel. Friday, which grossed $27.9 million from a $3.5 million budget, spawned the sequels Next Friday and The Friday After Next, although Chris Tucker did not star in those follow-ups.

‘The Silver Linings Playbook’ Wants Chris Tucker

Comedic actor Chris Tucker, who hasn't made a movie since the 2007 sequel Rush Hour 3, is in talks for roles in both The Silver Linings Playbook and Neighborhood Watch.

The Weinstein Company's The Silver Linings Playbook stars Bradley Cooper as a former high school teacher who is committed to an institution for depression. When he gets out, he tries to win back his ex-wife, and ends up falling for his neighbor instead. Jennifer Lawrence is attached to portray the neighbor, while Robert De Niro will play the main character's father. Chris Tucker is in talks to play Danny, who lives in the mental hospital where Bradley Cooper was institutionalized.

Chris Tucker Returns in ‘The Rabbit’

The highly selective and not often seen Chris Tucker has finally chosen a follow-up to his last theatrical endeavor, 2007's Rush Hour 3. According to Variety, the comedian will next be seen in the action comedy The Rabbit.

Sherlock Holmes producer Dan Lin is developing this vehicle for Warner Bros. from a script written by Micah Barnett. No story details have been released at this time.
