The drama follows sports agent J.B. Bernstein, who discovered professional pitchers Rinku Singh and Dinesh Patel through a reality show in India. The two imports became the first Indian players to sign pro baseball teams when they got contracts with the Pittsburgh Pirates.

‘Flamingo Thief’ Gets Director Craig Gillespie

Fright Night director Craig Gillespie is in negotiations to direct Flamingo Thief for Ben Stiller's Red Hour Films.

We first reported on this project in February, when Will Ferrell signed on to star. He will play the title character, a distraught lawyer who becomes obsessed with stealing pink flamingos from his neighbors, after his wife leaves him for another man.

Casting for the movie has also been a nightmare for the studio, actresses Anne Hathaway, Mia Wasikowska, Scarlett Johansson, Emma Stone, and most recently Blake Lively have passed on the lead role.

Author/screenwriter Seth Grahame-Smith is now in the running to direct his own adaptation of Pride and Prejudice and Zombies for Lionsgate, with Craig Gillespie still in the mix as well.

We reported last month that Craig Gillespie is in talks to take over the project, after Mike White stepped away in January. Now Seth Grahame-Smith, who wrote the novel the movie is based on and adapted the screenplay himself, could possibly co-direct with his producing partner, David Katzenberg, the son of DreamWorks co-founder Jeffrey Katzenberg.
