‘True Detective’ Season 2 Lands ‘Dexter’ Star

Production is already under way in California on Season 2 of HBO's True Detective, but it's never too late to add a new cast member, with Dexter alum C.S. Lee signing on for a recurring role. The actor will portray Richard Geldof, a district attorney who has much larger political ambitions. Geldof is described as, "smooth and polished, well-spoken and intelligent, with an unmoored moral compass." It isn't known how many episodes the actor will appear in.

The eight-episode Season 2 centers on three police officers and a career criminal, who must work together to unravel a massive conspiracy in the aftermath of a murder. Colin Farrell, Taylor Kitsch and Rachel McAdams are playing the three police officers, Ray Velcoro, Paul Woodrugh and Ani Bezzerides, with Vince Vaughn portraying the criminal, Frank Semyon, whose move to a legitimate business is jeopardized by the murder of his business partner. The supporting cast includes Kelly Reilly, as Frank's wife, a former D-list actress, Lolita Davidovich as Woodrugh's mother, James Frain as Detective Jeff Hunt, Michael Irby as Ani's partner Elvis, Abigail Spencer as a sexual assault survivor named Alicia and Leven Rambin as Sophia, a beauty queen with a drug problem.
