Here's How ‘It's Always Sunny’ Almost Killed Danny DeVito

Anyone who watches It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia on a regular basis knows that Danny DeVito's Frank Reynolds has gone through some hard knocks. And every season, the gang almost does him in with their shenanigans. The show's unprecedented Season 11 just launched a few weeks back. And as star Charlie Day tells it, it was almost the last for poor Danny DeVito.

It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia Season 11 is only four episodes into this new season. And it's already taken quite a toll on poor Frank. In the second episode, Danny DeVito's character took a long fall out a window that bashed in his head. And there will be more danger in Frank's life as this season continues. An all-new episode airs tonight on FXX at 10 p.m. ET. It finds Mac and Dennis moving to the Suburbs. Luckily, Danny DeVito lives to see another day. It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia just wouldn't be the same without him.

Ice Cube on Oscar Controversy: We Do Movies for the Fans, Not the Industry

When the Oscar nominations were announced last week, they were more controversial than ever, since, for the second year in a row, no African-American actor or actress was nominated, and the hit Straight Outta Compton didn't receive a Best Picture nomination. This lead to stars such as Will Smith, Jada Pinkett Smith and filmmaker Spike Lee to boycott the awards ceremony, with Oscar nominee Mark Ruffalo revealing this week that he's mulling the possibility of shunning the ceremony as well. Today we have more reactions on the controversy from Straight Outta Compton producer Ice Cube and actors such as Danny DeVito, Don Cheadle and Sam Neill.

The AP also spoke with Sam Neill, who thought that Beasts of No Nation's Idris Elba and The Hateful Eight's Samuel L. Jackson should have been a "shoo-in for nominations." What do you think about all of this Oscar controversy over the lack of diversity among the nominees? Chime in with your thoughts, and check out the video interview segments below.

Danny DeVito Almost Played This ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ Character

Danny DeVito Almost Played This ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ Character

The director was responding to a fan who asked that he replace Bradley Cooper with Danny DeVito. It isn't known what other actors actually read for the Rocket Raccoon role before James Gunn decided on Bradley Cooper, but the casting choice was later praised by fans after they finally got to hear what Rocket would sound like. Rocket, along with the rest of the Guardians, Star-Lord (Chris Pratt), Gamora (Zoe Saldana), Drax (Dave Bautista) and Groot (Vin Diesel) will be back for Guardians of the Galaxy 2, which is currently in pre-production in Atlanta.

If someone would have walked in to Guardians of the Galaxy not knowing any of the cast members involved, that person most likely would not have guessed that Bradley Cooper was the voice of Rocket. The actor eliminated all traces of his Philadelphia accent to portray the snarky raccoon, and his gravelly voice is unlike anything we've ever heard from the actor, before or since then. The casting worked out for the best, as Guardians of the Galaxy went on to become the surprise box office hit of 2014, taking in $333.1 million domestic and $774.1 million worldwide.
