‘Avengers 2’: Don Cheadle on the Return of Rhodey

We haven't heard much about Rhodey's role in Avengers: Age of Ultron, but he was seen during the party scene at Avengers Tower, which was showcased in the first trailer that debuted in October. The actor confirmed his involvement in Avengers: Age of Ultron back in December 2013, after portraying Rhodey in both Iron Man 2 and Iron Man 3. There have been rumors that he becomes part of the new Avengers team at the end of Avengers: Age of Ultron, but, of course that has not been confirmed, and we don't know if his character will use the Iron Patriot or War Machine armor in the sequel. While doing an early morning interview to talk about his Golden Globe nomination for House of Lies, Don Cheadle seemingly confirmed his involvement in Avengers: Age of Ultron to USA Today.

The story doesn't include an actual quote from the actor saying he has been cast in this Marvel Phase Two sequel, but it does say that the actor, "has a part to film in the next Avengers movie," along with his Miles Davis biopic Kill the Trumpet Player.

Don Cheadle, Ewan McGregor, and Zoe Saldana will star in BiFrost Pictures' Kill the Trumpet Player, it was announced today. Kill the Trumpet Player tells the story of a few dangerous days in the life of Miles Davis, the virtuoso, fighter and genius, as he bursts out of his silent period and conspires with a Rolling Stone writer (McGregor) to steal back his music.

Cheadle will play Davis and will make his feature directorial debut from a script co-written with Steven Baigelman.

COMIC-CON 2012: ‘Iron Man 3’ Panel and Videos with Robert Downey Jr. and Don Cheadle!

Marvel Studios hit Comic-Con 2012 hard today with huge surprises from Iron Man 3. Iron Man/Tony Stark himself, Robert Downey Jr., showed up unannounced to oversee the children's costume contest and entertain the massive crowd of fans that gathered in Hall H. Director Shane Black, executive producer Jon Favreau and Don Cheadle were also onhand to take Comic-Con by storm. Check out photos and videos from the events below.

A new casting call has been released, which reveals Scarlett Johansson will return as Black Widow, Gwyneth Paltrow reprises her Pepper Potts role, and Don Cheadle is back as Jim Rhodes in Iron Man 3. Take a look at this excerpt from the casting call."Principal actor auditions and extras casting registration is underway for the Walt Disney Studios/Marvel Studios superhero feature film Iron Man 3. Shooting will take place in the Wilmington, NC area and other locations in North Carolina from May 21, 2012 through September 7, 2012. The film's main stars are being cast out of Los Angeles, however many supporting and day player acting roles will be cast in North Carolina. All of the extras, photo-doubles and stand-ins for the films stars will be cast in North Carolina.
