‘The Barefoot Bandit’ Gets $1.3 Million Deal with 20th Century Fox

20 year old Colton Harris-Moore, known to most as The Barefoot Bandit, went on a two-year crime spree during his teens that ended with him crashing a plane he learned to fly himself.

20th Century Fox has picked up his life rights for $1.3 million, and Oscar-winning Milk scribe Dustin Lance Black is penning a screenplay about his exploits.

Dustin Lance Black and David Gordon Green Set for Barefoot Bandit Film

Dustin Lance Black will write the screenplay and David Gordon Green is in final talks to direct 20th Century Fox's film about infamous 18-year-old outlaw Colton Harris-Moore, a.k.a. the Barefoot Bandit, according to Variety.

Black's deal came on the same day that Harris-Moore was transported in chains from Miami to Seatac, Washington, after his dramatic arrest in the Bahamas on July 11.

In a story from The Hollywood Reporter, Warner Bros. has snapped up the movie rights to 3 Story: The Secret History of The Giant Man. This property is a Dark Horse Comics graphic novel by Matt Kindt.

Dustin Lance Black (he won an Oscar for writing Milk) is going to write and direct this adaptation, which is going to be produced by Dark Horse Entertainment.
