Yesterday, it was officially confirmed by producer and pilot co-director Seth Rogen that Dominic Cooper had finally secured the lead role as Jesse Custer in AMC's upcoming comic book adaptation series Preacher. Now we have news that Weeds alum Elizabeth Perkins has signed on for a co-starring role opposite Cooper. Perkins is set to star as Vyla Quinncannon. She is a genteel but formidable businesswoman and owner of the local slaughterhouse in Annville. She is described as ambitious, strong-willed and terrifying. It will be revealed that Vyla shares a past with Jesse's father, which gives her a singular hold over Jesse.
Preacher, which is co-executive produced by Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg, is based on the popular cult 90s comic book of the same name.
