Less than one month after actor Bruce Willis boarded the action-thriller Extraction, Gina Carano has been confirmed to join the cast, along with Kellan Lutz. We reported last week that actress Gina Carano will star in Extraction before she plays Angel Dust in Deadpool, but now her role has been confirmed.
The story centers on a CIA agent (Bruce Willis) who gets kidnapped by a terrorist group. Kellan Lutz is playing his son, Harry Turner, a CIA rookie agent who conducts a rescue mission on his own, against the agency's wishes. Actress Gina Carano has signed on to play Angel Dust in 20th Century Fox's highly-anticipated superhero adaptation Deadpool, alongside Ryan Reynolds and T.J. Miller. In the Marvel Comics, Angel Dust was part of an underground mutant group known as the Morlocks, although it isn't quite known yet how she fits into the story. Ryan Reynolds returns as the title character, which he first portrayed in 2009's X-Men Origins: Wolverine.
The Hollywood Reporter also reveals that X-Men character Colossus is slated to appear in the movie. Daniel Cudmore played Colossus in X2: X-Men United, X-Men: The Last Stand and last year's X-Men: Days of Future Past, but it wasn't said if the actor is reprising his role, or if another actor will take over for this project. Mixed martial arts fighter and actress Gina Carano has signed on to star in the Kickboxer remake. The actress will portray a fight promoter, alongside Jean-Claude Van Damme, Dave Bautista and Alain Moussi. The remake is currently filming in New Orleans.
The story follows Kurt Sloane (Alain Moussi), a gifted martial artist who travels to Thailand where he must learn kickboxing secrets to avenge the death of his brother. Dave Bautista is playing the villainous Tong Po, who killed Kurt's brother. Jean-Claude Van Damme, who played Kurt Sloane in the original 1989 film Kickboxer, signed on last week to portray Master Chow, replacing the initially-attached Tony Jaa.
