When the Oscar nominations were announced last week, they were more controversial than ever, since, for the second year in a row, no African-American actor or actress was nominated, and the hit Straight Outta Compton didn't receive a Best Picture nomination. This lead to stars such as Will Smith, Jada Pinkett Smith and filmmaker Spike Lee to boycott the awards ceremony, with Oscar nominee Mark Ruffalo revealing this week that he's mulling the possibility of shunning the ceremony as well. Today we have more reactions on the controversy from Straight Outta Compton producer Ice Cube and actors such as Danny DeVito, Don Cheadle and Sam Neill.
The AP also spoke with Sam Neill, who thought that Beasts of No Nation's Idris Elba and The Hateful Eight's Samuel L. Jackson should have been a "shoo-in for nominations." What do you think about all of this Oscar controversy over the lack of diversity among the nominees? Chime in with your thoughts, and check out the video interview segments below.Read More

As sick as some people might be of Charles Dickens' the Christmas Carol, having Ice Cube play Scrooge might be the defining moment for this often told holiday classic. There is no one more suited for the role, and it might prove to be the best character of his long and storied career as an actor. Universal Pictures picked up the spec script for Humbug in a four-studio bidding war, and Ice Cube is set to headline this Christmas comedy.
Tim Story, who directed Ice Cube in such blockbuster hits as Barbershop and Ride Along, is locked in to helm this contemporary retelling of Charles Dickens' most told tale. In this modern version, Ice Cube will play a wealthy real estate mogul who is, in traditional fashion, shown the errors of his ways by the ghosts of Christmas Past, Present and Future, leading him on a path to redemption.Read More
