‘Green Room’ Will Reunite Anton Yelchin and Imogen Poots

Fright Night stars Anton Yelchin and Imogen Poots are reuniting for the new thriller Green Room from director Jeremy Saulnier (Blue Ruin).

The story centers on a punk rock bank, lead by Anton Yelchin's character, who witness a murder at one of their small venue concerts in the middle of nowhere. They lock themselves in the green room, as they become targeted by a group of murderous and racist skinheads. Imogen Poots is playing a skinhead whose friend is the murder victim, which causes her to join forces with the band.

Imogen Poots Joins ‘Beautiful Ruins’

Cross Creek Pictures along with Smuggler Films announced today that Imogen Poots is attached to star as the young ingénue, "Dee Moray," in Todd Field's Beautiful Ruins, based on the sensational #1New York Times best-selling novel by Jess Walter, which has sold more than a million copies and been translated into 25 languages. Beautiful Ruins was adapted by Field and Walter, and Field will produce the film through Standard Film Company with Cross Creek's Brian Oliver and Tyler Thompson, as well as Smuggler Films' Patrick Milling Smith and Brian Carmody. In addition, Adam Kassan will oversee production for Cross Creek Pictures. Filming starts May 2014 in Italy.

The epic story begins off the Ligurian coast in the spring of 1962 and centers on four characters whose orbit around one another is set in motion by an incident involving the international jet-set center, Rome, in the throes of La Dolce Vita madness during the shooting of Cleopatra. As the sole female lead, Poots will play "Dee Moray," a young actress whose ties to several men, a force-of-one studio raconteur, a WWII veteran struggling to finish his first novel, a young Italian hotelier, and the great Richard Burton himself, are the epicenter of the story. Casting for the male roles is underway.

Zac Efron is starring as one of the friends, while Deborah Ann Woll will portray the ex-wife of another man in the group. No details were given for Imogen Poots' character.

DreamWorks has chosen Fright Night star Imogen Poots to play the female lead in Need for Speed. We reported earlier this month that Breaking Bad's Aaron Paul will portray the male lead.

John Gatins (Real Steel) and George Gatins developed the original story, while George Gatins wrote the script. No concrete story details have been released, although the video game adaptation is said to be a throwback to auto-centric films from the 1970s. The plot will not be based on any specific game from the Electronic Arts franchise. No details have been released for either the male or female lead characters as of yet.

International production and sales outfit Celluloid Dreams, headed by Hengameh Panahi, has acquired worldwide rights to the highly anticipated film Greetings from Tim Buckley starring Penn Badgley, Imogen Poots, Frank Wood, Norbert Leo Butz, Ben Rosenfield, Jessica Stone , William Sadler, and Frank Bello. Daniel Algrant (People I Know) is directing the script he co-wrote with Emma Sheanshang and David Brendel.

Greetings from Tim Buckley follows artist Jeff Buckley's (Penn Badgley) eminent 1991 performance at his father's tribute concert in St. Ann's Church. Through a romance with a young woman working at the concert, he comes to understand the father who abandoned him.
