‘Shanghai 3’ Finally Happening with Owen Wilson & Jackie Chan

Shanghai Noon and Shanghai Knights stars Owen Wilson and Jackie Chan have signed on for the new sequel Shanghai Dawn, which is moving forward at MGM Studios. Jonathan Glickman will oversee the project for MGM, which is currently seeking a screenwriter to craft a new story. No plot details were released at this time, and it isn't known when production may begin.

Owen Wilson's Roy O'Bannon, a small-time thief, and Jackie Chan's Chon Wang, an Imperial Guard, first teamed up in 2000's Shanghai Noon, which was coming off the heels of Jackie Chan's success in teaming up with Chris Tucker in 1998's Rush Hour. The story followed the unlikely team of O'Bannon and Wang as they joined forces to save a kidnapped princess. The movie only made $99.2 million worldwide from a $55 million budget, but it spawned the sequel Shanghai Knights in 2003, which took the action to London. The sequel earned $88.3 million worldwide from a $50 million budget.

‘Dragon Blade’ Trailer Starring Jackie Chan

Jackie Chan leads an all-star cast including John Cusack and Adrien Brody in the first trailer for the upcoming action-thriller Dragon Blade. The film is set to open in China on February 19, 2015, to coincide with the Chinese New Year holiday, but a domestic distributor has not been set at this time, and it isn't known when the film may be released in North America. This historical thriller is set in the Chinese Western Desert in 48 BCE.

Huo An (Jackie Chan), the commander of the Protection Squad of the Western Regions, was framed by evil forces and becomes enslaved. On the other hand, a Roman general (John Cusack) escapes to China after rescuing the Prince. The heroic duo meet in the Western Desert and a thrilling story unfolds. Adrien Brody and Sharni Vinson also star, alongside Chinese actors such as Peng Lin, Si Won Choi and Benny Urquidez.
