Lowndes was discovered in 2005 by the producers of Showtime’s anthology series “Masters of Horror.” After landing a starring role in Tobe Hooper’s apocalyptic film “Dance of the Dead,” Lowndes finished high school and moved to Hollywood to improve her talent and pursue her vocation.
Lowndes made her theatrical film debut in the horror film “The Haunting of Molly Hartley” and recently wrapped production on the thriller “Altitude,” in which she plays a rookie pilot whose weekend getaway flight turns into a horrific battle for survival. The film will be released in 2010.
An aspiring singer-songwriter, her song “Goodbye” was featured prominently in an episode of “Moonlight.” Lowndes’ other television credits include a recurring role on “Greek” and a starring role in Ryan Murphy’s “Pretty Handsome” transgender pilot which has developed a cult-like following despite the fact the show did not go to series.
Lowndes was born and raised in Canada and currently resides in Beverly Hills.
