‘The Englishman’ Gets Director John Moore

Foresight Unlimited and Envision Entertainment, who previously collaborated on the current box office hit, 2 Guns, produced by Marc Platt and Emmett/Furla and starring Denzel Washington and Mark Wahlberg, have come aboard to produce and finance The Englishman. Blockbuster director John Moore (A Good Day to Die Hard, Behind Enemy Lines) is attached to helm the film from a screenplay written by William Wisher Jr. (Terminator 2: Judgment Day). Foresight Unlimited will also be handling worldwide sales for the film.

Mark Damon will produce the $30M action film alongside James Gibb, Benedict Carver, Timothy Wayne Peternel, and John Moore.

‘Die Hard 5’ Gets Director John Moore

20th Century Fox has selected Max Payne filmmaker John Moore to direct Die Hard 5. We reported earlier this month that John Moore was one of the finalists for the directing gig along with Joe Cornish, Justin Lin, and Nicolas Winding Refn.

We reported in February that Noam Murro (Smart People) was set to direct Die Hard 5, but he dropped out after landing the 300: Battle of Artemisia directing job in July.

Twentieth Century Fox has picked up a pitch by scribe Peter Buchman (Jurassic Park III) and set Irish-born director John Moore (Max Payne) to direct.

The plot is being kept under wraps, but there could be a sci-fi element.
