Entertainment One Films (eOne) has acquired the distribution rights in the U.S. and Canada to Miss Meadows, starring Katie Holmes, it was announced today by Berry Meyerowitz, President of U.S. Film and Distribution. The agreement marks the first film acquisition under Meyerowitz who is integrating his Phase 4 Films into eOne. James Badge Dale, Mary Kay Place and Jean Smart also star in Miss Meadows, which was directed and written by Karen Leigh Hopkins. Eric Brenner and Rob Carliner produced. The film is slated for a theatrical release in the fall of 2014.

The plot is set in the year 1998, when Holocaust survivor Maria Altmann (Helen Mirren) enlists the help of her lawyer grandson (Ryan Reynolds) to sue the Austrian government. The lawsuit was an attempt to retrieve multiple Gustav Klimt paintings that were stolen from her family by the Nazis.
