Kiefer Sutherland Is Done with ‘24’ But Not Jack Bauer

Kiefer Sutherland's statement shouldn't come as much of a surprise, since he revealed in December that he didn't see himself coming back to the Jack Bauer role, but then added he could always change his mind. As for the spinoff, it will follow a new male counter-terrorist agent who works alongside a veteran female agent. The lead female character will not be Kate Morgan, played by Yvonne Strahovski, but it's possible she could return for the spinoff as well. Original 24 writers/producers Manny Coto and Evan Katz are currently working on the script and they will also executive producer alongside Howard Gordon. There have also been rumblings about a 24 movie, but it isn't known if that project is in active development or not.

Shortly after it ended, executive producer Jon Cassar claimed a movie was still being planned. As of now, nothing has been confirmed by the studio. During the run of the miniseries, Kiefer Sutherland seemed slightly optimistic about a movie happening, calling it an 'ongoing situation'. While this looks like the end of Jack Bauer for now, its possible we may seem him resurrected in the next couple of years.
