‘The Muppets’: Kermit Gets a New Girlfriend, and She's a Real Pig

Early last month, it was widely reported that Kermit the Frog and Miss Piggy had called it quits. They made the break public, releasing a statement to the press just as their new show The Muppets is set to debut this fall. The ABC reality series, which is described as a fresh take on The Office, will show the lives of these various animals and creatures. And as expected, we'll be getting a bird's-eye view into the dating woes and romantic relationships of everyone's favorite Pig and Frog. ABC has leaked early photos of Kermy's new fling. And to be honest, she's a real pig.

Kermit the Frog and Miss Piggy have been together for over four decades. Though their split was amicable (according to the record), it didn't take long for the green man to start hitting the field. And boy, did he hit it hard. Kermit the Frog is rumored to be dating an ABC employee he met on the set of his new ABC series The Muppets. She is apparently the head of marketing for ABC, making her a co-worker (sort of). But you know what they say about workplace relationships. Don't eat where you...You get the drift.

Kermit & Miss Piggy Break Up Ahead of ‘Muppet Show’ Premiere

But today they've made it official. Like so many Hollywood couples before them, Kermit the Frog and Miss Piggy have officially called it quits. But don't worry, they still believe they can work together, and we may even see some of their post-break-up tribulations on The Muppets this fall.

While Kermit the Frog claims the statement is from both him and his ex-pigfriend, it's clear that she had him do all the work in writing it himself. The termination of their relationship is effective immediately. The new series will dive into the personal lives and relationships of The Muppets. So while they have no further comment now, it's possible that various parts of their past relationship will float up to the surface, bothering adults probably much more so than the kids.
