‘Last Knights’ Clip with Morgan Freeman & Clive Owen | EXCLUSIVE

Bartok (Morgan Freeman) reveals that his protege Raiden (Clive Owen) will inherit his lands in our exclusive clip from Last Knights, arriving in theaters and on VOD formats April 3. Set in a nameless feudal society, Last Knights tells the timeless tale of a fallen warrior and his enduring loyalty to the master who redeemed him from the despair of his dark past. The film follows Commander Raiden (Clive Owen) and his band of warriors as they wage battle against the corrupt ruler Geza Mott to avenge the unjust death of their honorable leader Lord Bartok (Morgan Freeman).

Commander Raiden was the living, breathing embodiment of the ancient code of the sword but the era of the warrior was ending as battle and honor were being replaced by stifling protocol and devious politics. After being summoned by the reigning Emperor's nefarious minister Geza Mott, Raiden's master, Lord Bartok, defiantly takes the journey to the capital city with his loyal soldiers accompanying him. During his visit, Lord Bartok is unjustly convicted of treason and ordered to be executed. The Bartok clan is thus stripped of their name and evicted from their lands, leaving Lord Bartok's family, as well as Raiden and his soldiers, in a state of forced exile. Raiden must then make a decision between his deep loyalties to Bartok and his own survival.

‘Doctor Strange’ Eyes Morgan Freeman as the Ancient One

Now that Marvel has confirmed actor Benedict Cumberbatch is the new Doctor Strange, the studio is focusing its casting efforts on finding the right actor to play The Ancient One. Latino Review reports that Morgan Freeman, Bill Nighy and Ken Watanabe are the studio's top candidates to play The Ancient One in this Marvel Phase Three adventure. It isn't clear at this point which of these actors is the front runner for the role.

It also isn't known how large of a role The Ancient One may have in this story, since we reported in August that Doctor Strange will not be an origin story, with Stephen Strange already established as a superhero. In the Marvel comics, The Ancient One is the previous Sorcerer Supreme, who serves as Strange's mentor. He also ends up training but ultimately rejecting Mordo, a character long rumored to be the villain in Doctor Strange. Whoever the bad guy may be, a rumor from last month suggested that the villain may be first introduced in the first Marvel Phase Three movie, Captain America: Civil War.
