After appearing in just two short films, he landed the role of Ryder Scanlon on ABC Family's Melissa & Joey. And then, with just one independent film under his belt, 2013's fantastic The Kings of Summer, Nick Robinson landed the role of Zach, the too-cool-for-school older brother of Ty Simpkins' Gray in Jurassic World (check out our full review). These two siblings are sent off on a trip to this incredible resort to visit their aunt Claire (Bryce Dallas Howard), but that trip unfortunately coincides with the genetically-created dinosaur Indominus Rex escaping, putting thousands of tourists' lives in danger. Nick Robinson, who is currently shooting Universal's Jurassic World, has signed on to star alongside Chloe Moretz in Sony Pictures' The 5th Wave.
We first reported on this project back in April, when Chloe Moretz signed on to star in this adaptation of Rick Yancey's sci-fi novel, which is set in the aftermath of an alien invasion on Earth. Humanity has survived four waves of this alien attack, with The 5th Wave under way. We reported yesterday that Iron Man 3 and Insidious Chapter 2 star Ty Simpkins joined the cast in another leading role. Nick Robinson is slated to play Ty Simpkins' older brother, although no further character details were given.
