Seth Rogen and Kevin Hart May Team for Buddy Cop Comedy

The project was acquired by Paramount Pictures back in March 2012, when the studio bought the pitch from Rodney Rothman, who has produced Nick Stoller's previous directorial efforts Forgetting Sarah Marshall, Get Him to the Greek and The Five-Year Engagement. No other plot details were given, and it isn't known when production may begin.

Rodney Rothman previously served as the head writer for Late Show with David Letterman, before moving on to writing and producing features. He also wrote last year's comedy Grudge Match and the upcoming sequel 22 Jump Street. Nick Stoller is also writing and producing upcoming projects such as Captain Underpants and Uptown Saturday Night.

Forgetting Sarah Marshall director Nick Stoller has signed on to rewrite the screenplay for the Warner Bros. remake Uptown Saturday Night.

We reported back in March 2011 that Will Smith and Denzel Washington were circling the project. Both stars are committed to making the movie happen, and both must approve the new script by Nick Stoller, if the project is to move forward. While Will Smith and his Overbrook Entertainment company have been developing the original script by Timothy Dowling (Role Models), they haven't been able to coordinate the stars' scheduled and get the script just right yet.

However, when they wake up the next morning, the tape is gone, and the couple launches a desperate search to find it.
