One of this summer's unexpected surprise hits was Daniel Stamm's scary thriller The Last Exorcism, which is set for Blu-ray and DVD release this Tuesday, January 4th. Produced by Eli Roth, this mockumentary of sorts follows Reverend Cotton Marcus on a journey to expose exorcism as a fraud. But deep in rural Louisiana, he soon discovers that some demons are very real. Actor Patrick Fabian brings Cotton to life with an undeniable energy that gives the film some much needed gravitas. To help celebrate this upcoming release, we caught up with Patrick for a quick discussion about the movie and its home video release.
Watching The Last Exorcism a second time, and paying close attention to the fact that Reverend Cotton Marcus is a novice filmmaker, this certainly plays as a hoax conducted by Cotton himself. That the movie we are watching is actually a creation of this character...Read More

As we get closer to August, one film is slowly building buzz as the must see horror experience of the summer. Daniel Stamm's The Last Exorcism, which was produced by the infamous Eli Roth, has been picking up strong word of mouth from advanced audiences and critics alike. The film follows renown exorcist Reverend Cotton Marcus, a shame artist and spiritual healer not quite on the up and up. The man sets out to document his last "fake" exorcism and expose himself as a phony in the process. When he arrives on the rural Louisiana farm of Louis Sweetzer, Reverend Marcus expects to find another exaggerated, routine "demon" possession taking place in the disoriented mind of Sweetzer's daughter Nell. But upon entering the blood-drenched farm house where this supposed "possession" has taken place, Cotton soon realizes that he may be dealing with something very real, and very evil.
This movie looks crazy. I know they've had some advanced screenings. Did you get to attend any of those? What has the reaction to the film been like?Read More
We have been directed to a brand new viral website that has popped up for The Last Exorcism, which will arrive in theaters nationwide on August 27. Take a look at the image we received via email - which is made to look like an email from Patrick Fabian's character, Reverend Cotton Marcus - and take a look below at the details for this new viral website.
This new website at ChurchOfStMarks.com is set up just like a regular church website, complete with times for church services and bible studies, a calendar of events, sermon excerpts and a bio for Reverend Cotton Marcus along with an email address to "contact" the church. There are also several "informative" articles posted on the site, covering such topics as how to avoid demonic possession, a history of exorcism, a how-to article about caring for the possessed along with an exorcism test and an application form to fill out if you are in need of an exorcism.Read More
