DreamWorks Animation's Kung Fu Panda 3 is slated for release on January 29, 2016, but the animated sequel has made a late casting change. The Hollywood Reporter reveals that Kate Hudson is replacing Rebel Wilson as Mei Mei, a ribbon dancer who becomes romantically obsessed with Po (Jack Black). It doesn't appear that this casting change will affect the release date at this time.
Sources claim that the Kung Fu Panda 3 production was recently extended, which created a conflict for Rebel Wilson, forcing her to drop out. The scenes involving Mei Mei will also be re-animated, to reflect Kate Hudson's new take on the character. We got our first look at Mei Mei in the new photos that surfaced in June, but it isn't known what this new version of the character will look like.Read More

Back when Hailee Steinfeld joined the cast of Universal's summer sequel Pitch Perfect 2, it was said that she will take over the franchise as more sequels are being planned to revolve specifically around her character. Now, star Rebel Wilson has confirmed that Pitch Perfect 3 is indeed happening, and that she will return. The Australian comedienne wasn't able to confirm that Anna Kendrick is coming back. But its believed that Hailee Steinfeld is signed for at least 3 films including Pitch Perfect 2.
The summer movie landscape doesn't have too many comedies this year, but everything coming over the course of the next four months are all possible heavy hitters. Pitch Perfect 2 will likely be a gigantic smash hit when it opens on May 15, as the series has racked up a huge and loyal fan base since the first arrived in 2012. Hot Pursuit arrives the week before, starring Sofía Vergara and Reese Witherspoon. It will appeal to the same audiences and also promises to be a hit with franchise potential. Spy has been getting extremely good word of mouth, and arrives with the sequel Ted 2 this June. And Trainwreck, which, like Spy, garnered incredible reviews coming out of SXSW, will have July all to itself in terms of big comedies.Read More

It isn't clear when Sony plans on releasing this highly-anticipated project yet, but we may find out more once the script is complete.
It's worth noting that, despite turning down the project for years, a report from October hinted that Bill Murray may be interested in returning for a cameo after all. However, another report revealed that this project won't be connected to the original Ghostbusters franchise at all. Do you think Rebel Wilson should be one of the new Ghostbusters. Who else do you think should join her in the all-female cast?Read More
