Robert Pattinson & Carice Van Houten Team for ‘Brimstone’

Robert Pattinson and Carice van Houten have officially joined headlining stars Mia Wasikowska and Guy Pearce for the thrilling new Western Brimstone. Martin Koolhoven, known for his work on Winter in Wartime, is writing and directing the movie. Embankment launched the project at Berlin's European Film Market this week.

Brimstone is a suspenseful tale of guilt and retribution that unfolds at the end of the 19th century. A dark, violent and epic western about a young woman (and her family) whose lives change drastically when a diabolical preacher comes to town. From the moment the new reverend climbs the pulpit, Liz knows she and her family are in great danger.

David Michôd reveals that he wrote the character of Eric specifically for Guy Pearce, who is relentlessly angry at how the world has evolved after the collapse of modern society 10 years prior. Robert Pattinson plays Rey, who is forced by Eric to help track down his former gang, with the actor revealing that his character has never had to think for himself before meeting Eric. When a gang of thieves steals his car they leave behind a wounded Rey (Pattinson) in their wake. Forcing Rey to help track the gang, Eric will go to any lengths to take back the one thing that still matters to him. Michod also wrote the film based on a story he conceived with Joel Edgerton.

Robert de Niro Teams with Robert Pattinson for the Action Thriller ‘Idol's Eye’

Benaroya Pictures has announced today that they are now on board to produce and finance director Olivier Assayas' Idol's Eye, with a confirmed cast that includes Robert Pattinson and Robert De Niro. Charles Gillibert developed and produced the project with CG Cinema, Bluegrass Films' Scott Stuber, Film 360's Scott Lambert, Alexandra Milchan and Michael Benaroya, with Ben Sachs executive producing for Benaroya Pictures. The film is scheduled to begin principal photography in October in Chicago and Toronto.

The plot elements are currently under wraps, but it has been described as a sophisticated, heist action/thriller.
