‘Carrie’ Remake? Stephen King Asks, Why?

The Carrie remake is still in very early stages and, like Stephen King says, "who knows if it will happen?" However, our original report from yesterday indicated MGM and Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa want to be more faithful to Stephen King's novel than the original movie, so perhaps the author might get behind this project after all. We'll just have to wait and see.

‘Carrie’ Remake Moves Forward at MGM

Playwright/screenwriter Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa has been hired to write a remake of the 1976 horror classic Carrie for MGM. The writer was recently brought on to re-work the Broadway superhero musical, Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark.

It is said that Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa will stick much closer to Stephen King's novel than the original movie did. Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa has worked with Stephen King in the past, penning a graphic novel based on Stephen King's book The Stand.
