Melissa Leo and Til Schweiger Join ‘The Necessary Death of Charlie Countryman’

Melissa Leo and Til Schweiger have joined the cast of The Necessary Death of Charlie Countryman for Voltage Pictures and director Fredrik Bond.

Shia LaBeouf stars as the title character, who falls for a young woman (Evan Rachel Wood) under the control of a violent mob boss (Mads Mikkelsen). Melissa Leo will play Charlie's late mother, whose spirit guides him through this ordeal. Til Schweiger is portraying Darko, a Serbian mobster who is sent to America to avoid a war crimes tribunal.

‘Sleight of Hand’ Gets Kiefer Sutherland, Thomas Jane, and Til Schweiger

Kiefer Sutherland, Gérard Depardieu, Til Schweiger, Thomas Jane, Johnny Hallyday, Jon Lovitz and Eric Cantona, will star in Sleight of Hand, it was announced today by Producer Richard Rionda Del Castro; whose Hannibal Classics will begin selling the film this week at Cannes. Also producing will be Gilles Thompson from Acteurs, Auteurs, Associes (AAA). Brad Mirman will direct the star-studded action comedy. Patricia Eberle will serve as executive producer. The film will shoot the end of July through mid-September.

In Sleight of Hand, also starring French actors Jean-Luc Couchard, Nora Arnezeder and Patrice Cols, the international cast plays a crew of small time crooks in Paris, who inadvertently end up possessing a rare gold coin belonging to a notorious French gangster. The leader of the crew calls his uncle (Depardieu), a retired criminal, to help them raise the money to repay the gangster. The series of mix-ups and double crosses culminate as the gangs are pit face to face, chasing through Paris.

Jon Bon Jovi and Seth Meyers Join ‘New Year's Eve’

Jon Bon Jovi, Seth Meyers (Saturday Night Live), and Til Schweiger (Inglourious Basterds) have joined the cast of New Year's Eve for New Line Cinema.

Jon Bon Jovi will play an aging rock star who dumped Halle Berry's character years ago and meets her once again at a New Year's Eve party. Seth Meyers is portraying a broke father who wants his pregnant wife (Jessica Biel) to deliver the year's first baby in order to win $25,000 in a radio contest. No details were given on Til Schweiger's character.

Mickey Rourke and Til Schweiger Join ‘The Courier’

Mickey Rourke and Inglourious Basterds star Til Schweiger have both come aboard the new thriller The Courier, according to The Wrap.

The movie centers around Jeffrey Dean Morgan's title character, a courier with a penchant for dangerous assignments. When he's hired to deliver a briefcase to a notorious crime figure who hasn't been seen in years, he finds himself being chased by corrupt cops and federal agents along with rivals from the criminal world.
