‘The Muppets 2’ Replaces Christoph Waltz with Ty Burrell

Modern Family star Ty Burrell has joined the cast of Disney's sequel The Muppets 2, replacing Christoph Waltz.

We reported in October that Christoph Waltz was in talks to play an Interpol inspector in this follow-up to last year's The Muppets. However, the Oscar winner was forced to back out due to scheduling conflicts. The inspector role that Ty Burrell will take over is said to be one of the key, non-puppet roles. Other parts that are still being cast are a Russian femme fatale and a mysterious male lead.

The highly competitive world of championship butter carving is the subject explored in She's Out of My League director Jim Field Smith's latest comedy, Butter. The story follows Laura Pickler, played by Jennifer Garner, the first lady of Butter carving, who, upset that her husband plans to step down from his title, decides to take on the art form herself. We have the first trailer from this delicious dish, which also stars Ashley Greene, Olivia Wilde, Yara Shahidi, Alicia Silverstone, and Ty Burrell, with a cameo from Wolverine himself, Hugh Jackman.

Ty Burrell Signs on for ‘Switch’

Modern Family star Ty Burrell has joined the cast of Switch, writer-director Daniel Schechter's prequel to Quentin Tarantino's Jackie Brown.

We first reported on this project last week, when John Hawkes and Yasiin Bey (formerly Mos Def) joined the cast. The story is set 15 years before the events of Jackie Brown, and follows Ordell Robbie (Yasiin Bey) and Louis Gara (John Hawkes) as they try to kidnap Mickey Dawson, the wife of a crooked Detroit real estate magnate. Ty Burrell will play Marshall Taylor, a married country club member who has a crush on Mickey and witnesses the kidnapping.
