‘Bourne 5’ Gets Vincent Cassel as the Villain

No specific plot details have been given, but Matt Damon revealed last week that the story is set in a "post-Snowden world," with the main action taking place in a "austerity-riddled Europe." Edward Snowden was the CIA analyst who leaked confidential documents outlining the U.S. government's tactics for spying on the American public. The actor also confirmed that filming will begin in Greece, ending in Las Vegas. The main themes of this plot will revolve around spying on the public, civil liberties and democracy in general.

Vincent Cassel joins a cast that also includes Julia Stiles, reprising her role as Nicky Parsons from the original Bourne trilogy, along with new casting additions Alicia Vikander and Tommy Lee Jones. You may recall that, in 2007's The Bourne Ultimatum, before his bout with amnesia, Nicky hinted that she was romantically involved with Jason Bourne. It remains to be seen if that plot line will continue in this action-thriller.

Among the stories included are the earliest known versions of Rapunzel and Cinderella. It isn't known which three stories The Tale of Tales will be based on, but the project is described as an ambitious period fantasy piece.
