Variety reports that Columbia Pictures is in talks with Phil Lord and Chris Miller (Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs) to helm 21 Jump Street. This film is based on the TV series that launched the career of Johnny Depp.

The feature is "about a group of baby-faced cops who go undercover at high schools." It has has been developed by Jonah Hill and Mike Bacall. Bacall penned the script and Hill will star in the film and also executive produce. Neal Moritz is going to produce with Stephen J. Cannell.

The TV series ran from 1987-1990.
