Taken director Pierre Morel is in negotiations to take the helm on The Hitman's Bodyguard for Skydance Productions.

Tom O'Connor wrote the screenplay, which landed on the 2011 Black List. The story centers on a protection agent who is assigned to escort a hitman to The Hague, where he will testify against a war criminal.

David Ellison will produce through his Skydance Productions company, alongside Dana Goldberg. No production schedule was given.

Pierre Morel has been attached to several different projects in recent years, none of which have panned out. He was originally slated to direct Ouija and Dune before they both fell apart. Most recently, we reported he signed on to direct Bastille Day for Vendome Pictures and Anonymous Content, although he left that project as well.
