‘Pirates of the Caribbean 5’ Officially Titled ‘Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales’

Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales Official Title Revealed Taking a cue from the original Disneyland theme park attraction upon which it's based, Pirates of the Caribbean 5 is officially titled Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales. No story details have been released, but Johnny Depp is confirmed to return as Captain Jack Sparrow.

Directors Joachim Rønning and Espen Sandberg (the Oscar-winning duo behind the international thriller Kon-Tiki) confirmed the title today during an interview with This Is Infamous.

Both directors were said to be genuinely enthused about the upcoming sequel, though they weren't able to offer any more insight into the film. They did, however, reveal that this latest chapter will serve as a stand-alone adventure while tying into the overall mythology of the franchise as it currently stands.

The infamous line "Dead Men Tell No Tales" has been the introduction on the Pirates ride at Disneyland since it first debuted in 1967.

Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales comes to theaters July 7th, 2017.

    @CoreyB I agree.

    @Likhit-Sudha What fan-made plot synopsis did you find that out from?

      I'm glad theyre making another Pirates movie. The last one that came out isnt even considered good by critics yet it made a billion dollars! Jack Sparrow is still relevant and hes a great cinematic character. When you go to the Magic Kingdom in Disney World, they are all about Pirates especially w/the ride! Dead Men Tell No Tales is a great title and very nostalgic of the ride! I'll be on board when this comes out...dont act like you wont be.

        Ah,what I heard was Davy Jones returns due to some unbroken spell between The Flying Dutchman and him due to Will's misfortune and Elizabeth has a map that can restore The Pearl to its original size but is unwilling to give it to Jack if he helps her fight against the four Kraken clones.

          Well what I heard was All the characters would return to this film and somewhere in the film even Davy Jones for the Flying Dutchman.Jack would once again fight for The Pearl along with his previous friends against The Aztecs who are looking for their lost and sunken treasure.It is actually Barbossa who steals the treasure secretly after the third movie and the tribal Aztecs are behind Jack for this theft.

                @stefanos Oh, I would think that the cast that played the crew of the Black Pearl in the end of Pirates 1, and all of Pirates 2 and Pirates 3, will be back for Pirates 5. My theory is that, Blackbeard shrunk the Black Pearl with his magic that he has with his sword and ship, and he put it in the bottle with everyone still in the ship but all of the crew of the Black Pearl shrunk too. Remember the scenes in Pirates 4 where Jack Sparrow sees that the ship is still active when Angelica gives Jack the Black Pearl while its still in the bottle and the other scene where he looks into the bottle at the ship and the monkey pops out of the ship in the bottle? Well, That all pretty much means that the crew of the Black Pearl from the end of Pirates 1 and all of Pirates 2 and Pirates, are all still alive and are all in the Black Pearl.

                  @ - Yea it's unfortunate they keep making billions, and yes you are correct am not forced to see them but it doesn't mean I won't voice my opinion about how bad the quality of the franchise has become to me.

                            @ejk1 I just thought you were in denial that there would be a Pirates of the Caribbean 6, if Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales succeeds in the box office.

                                    @stefanos I think the reason why they make each of the titles for the Pirates of the Caribbean movies the way that they do, is so that before each person sees the movie, it makes them wonder what the movie is going to be about. Which kind of makes it like a mystery In a way. Although, That's only if you're someone who hasn't read the official Plot/Synopsis, when it is released to the public well before the movie is released to theaters.

                                      @gumperman I noticed that as well.

                                      @Ysoof-Groof Yes, As you can see below, I was trying to explain to ejk1 yesterday, that a Pirates of the Caribbean 6 will happen if Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales is successful in the box office.

                                      @jasdjqs As I was trying to explain to ejk1 and Ysoof Groof, If Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales is successful in the box office, then a Pirates of the Caribbean 6 is likely to happen.

                                          I just keep wondering how many more known pirate lore they can squeeze into this franchise. It's been creative and good but like Marvel's Phase 2 and 3 and the Spiderman reboot, eventually you're gonna get down to the stories only pirate historians are going to know or care about (all 20 of 'em) and then the bottom will fall out at the box office.
