The group, which is comprised of Scott Hoying, Mitch Grassi, Avi Kaplan, Kirstie Maldonado and Kevin Olusola, will be playing a new rival group to the Barden Bellas in the sequel. Pentatonix was on the set for just one 12-hour day in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, which included full makeup and wardrobe treatments.

Here's what Scott Hoying had to say, teasing the costumes the singers will be wearing.

"We're wearing some pretty interesting things. You can definitely tell it's the five of us, but what we're wearing and who we're portraying is definitely not Pentatonix."

Pitch Perfect 2 centers on the Barden Bellas (Anna Kendrick, Rebel Wilson, Brittany Snow, Anna Camp) returning for another school year at Barden University, where they try to add new members to their nationally-recognized group, with Pentatonix threatening their return to the top.

Pentatonix became involved in the sequel thanks to the efforts of Deke Sharon, who coordinated music on both the original Pitch Perfect and The Sing-Off, and a film publicist who arranged for Pentatonix to perform at the Pitch Perfect premiere. Kevin Olusola also revealed that fans who tweeted to the sequel's producers, asking them to cast Pentatonix, also helped their cause.

The members of Pentatonix will not be playing themselves, but they did get to put together their own song, which Scott Hoying revealed will contain "the Pentatonix sound." Here's what he had to say about their collaboration with the studio.

"They gave us a song, and we arranged it and sent it back, expecting them to say, 'You need to change this, this, and this.' But they came back and said, 'Great, that's it!' That was really cool."

Scott Hoying also revealed that certain cast members expressed their admiration of Pentatonix on the set.

"Anna Kendrick came up to me on set and said, 'Me and my roommate watch your Vines!' Skylar Astin came up at the premiere and said, 'I am the biggest fan of Pentatonix.' It's just crazy to think that Pentatonix has developed this following where celebrities know who we are."

While the Pentatonix members won't have any dialogue, which Scott Hoying revealed is "probably for the best," Kevin Olusola did have plenty of screen time with the Barden Bellas.

"I will say, all the Barden Bellas are hot. So I was pretty happy."

Pitch Perfect 2 is currently in production in Baton Rogue, Louisiana, under the direction of Elizabeth Banks.
