While genre fans have a few huge movies to get excited about in 2015, largely Avengers: Age of Ultron, Ant-Man and Star Wars: The Force Awakens, next year will also feature the return of the Barden Bellas in the highly-anticipated Pitch Perfect 2. Entertainment Weekly has offered the first look at this sequel, with stars Anna Kendrick, Rebel Wilson and Brittany Snow gracing this week's magazine cover.

Very little is known about the plot thus far, but EW reveals that Anna Kendrick's Beca has landed an internship with a major record label, and that she is still dating Skylar Astin's Jesse. Elizabeth Banks, who executive produced 2012's Pitch Perfect and had a small role as Gail, is both reprising her role on camera and making her directorial debut. The actress/filmmaker joked that it was a "stupid idea" to take on this sequel.

"This is the stupidest idea I've ever had. My first movie is this huge studio movie that a lot of people care about that also happens to be a musical with massive dance numbers. I don't know what I was thinking."

The original Pitch Perfect only took in $65 million domestic, but it became a huge hit on Blu-ray and DVD platforms, with the soundtrack going platinum, thanks in part to Anna Kendrick's hit single "Cups." Here's what Elizabeth Banks had to say about the unexpected success of the first movie.

"It was pretty modest. But it engendered a lot of love. That's what we could not have foreseen. The first film flew under the radar, and it was a gift. This time around, much higher stakes. Everybody is much more involved. As the saying goes, 'Success has many fathers.'"
