Earth is about to get some uninvited, yet very familiar, visitors in the upcoming summer adventure Pixels, with Sony Pictures releasing five new posters. These one-sheets show classic 1980s video games being used against us, with Pac-Man attacking San Francisco, Donkey Kong throwing his barrels at Toronto, a Galaga ship looming over Sydney, Australia, Centipede stationed over London and one of the Space Invaders setting up shop in Paris. We reported in July that Pixels will feature other games such as Frogger, Q-Bert, Missile Command, Dig Dug, Joust, Defender, Robotron and Wizard of Wor, so perhaps we'll get a new wave of posters soon.

In Pixels, intergalactic aliens misinterpret video-feeds of classic arcade games as a declaration of war against them and attack the Earth, using the games as models for their various assaults. President Will Cooper (Kevin James) has to call on his childhood best friend, '80s video game champion Sam Brenner (Adam Sandler), now a home theater installer, to lead a team of old-school arcaders (Peter Dinklage and Josh Gad) to defeat the aliens and save the planet. Michelle Monaghan also stars the team's unique weapons specialist, with Brian Cox rounding out the cast as Admiral Porter.

Chris Columbus directs this upcoming adventure, which is based on Patrick Jean's innovative short film of the same name, where New York City is "pixelated" and turned into massive versions of video games such as Tetris. Take a look at the one-sheets below, and stay tuned for more posters and footage as we get closer and closer to Pixels' June 24, 2015 release.
