On Saturday, May 6, the Tribeca Film Festival will host the world premiere of Poseidon. The Warner Bros. Pictures action-adventure stars Kurt Russell, Josh Lucas, Richard Dreyfuss, Emmy Rossum, Jacinda Barrett, Mike Vogel, Mia Maestro, Jimmy Bennett and Andre Braugher, many of whom will attend the star-studded gala.

"We are truly honored and delighted to be a part of the Tribeca Film Festival and to offer New York audiences advance passage on Poseidon," says Academy Award nominated director Wolfgang Petersen. "Poseidon was made for audiences like this, people who truly love movies and the film-going experience, who go to the theater expecting to be transported to a entirely different world."

After a rogue wave capsizes a luxury cruise ship in the North Atlantic, a small group of survivors find themselves unlikely allies in the ensuing battle for their lives in Poseidon. Determined to fight their way to the surface, they must forge a path upward through layers of wreckage as the ship continues to sink, drawing upon skills and strengths they didn't even know they had, fighting against time for their own survival and for each other.

The New York based film festival will also host the world premiere of Universal's United 93 as its opening night movie.

Poseidon will be released May 12, 2006, in both standard and IMAX theaters worldwide.
