Today, Cartoon Network unveiled a first look at the all-new series The Powerpuff Girls. The rebooted show features the original arbiters of girl power; Blossom, Bubbles and Buttercup! Slated to premiere this spring, the reimagined series from Cartoon Network Studios is  about three girls juggling school and saving the world before bedtime. We have your first look with a clip from the episode I Am Not a Princess. We also have select new images that show the trio back in action.

Adventure Time's Nick Jennings is executive producing this new take on the animated superhero adventure created by Craig McCracken. The Powerpuff Girls reboot series voice cast features Amanda Leighton as Blossom, Kristen Li as Bubbles, and Natalie Palamides as Buttercup. Tom Kenny will reprise his iconic role as the Narrator/Mayor. The original The Powerpuff Girls was headlined by Cathy Cavadini as Blossom, Tara Strong as Bubbles, and Elizabeth Daily as Buttercup.

The story follows three young girls who gain superpowers after creator Professor Utonium accidentally adds the mysterious Chemical X to the "sugar, spice, and everything nice" formula that he relies upon for creating perfect little girls. Cartoon Network's Chief Content Officer Rob Sorcher had this to say about the returning series:

"It has been wonderful to see this new show team bring such passion and positive creative spirit to this iconic property. We know that fans of every age will appreciate this new take on saving the world before bedtime."

The original show also spawned the theatrical feature The Powerpuff Girls Movie in 2002, along with The Powerpuff Girls: 'Twas the Fight Before Christmas and The Powerpuff Girls A Made Up Story. The Powerpuff Girls is one of the top-grossing Cartoon Network brands of all time, with more than $2.5 billion in retail sales generated since its debut, and has endured as a global fashion brand with a range of apparel partners and fashion collections around the world. Nick Jennings has also served as a writer and producer on SpongeBob SquarePants and Rocko's Modern Life. Take a look as the girls get back to work! Coming soon to Cartoon Network.
