During last night's Fear the Walking Dead premiere, AMC gave fans a sneak peek at the upcoming comic book adaptation Preacher, which is set to debut Sunday, May 22 at 9 PM, after Fear the Walking Dead wraps up the first half of its second season. This scene, which was posted to the Preacher Twitter page earlier today, gives us our first full look at Ruth Negga's Tulip, who is seen trying to fend off an attacker while driving a car. This intense clip only hints at how awesome the action is in the upcoming pilot!

Preacher is a supernatural, twisted and darkly comedic drama that follows a West Texas preacher named Jesse Custer, who is inhabited by a mysterious entity that causes him to develop a highly unusual power. Jesse, his badass ex-girlfriend Tulip and an Irish vagabond named Cassidy come together and when they do, they are thrust into a crazy world populated by a cast of characters from Heaven, Hell and everywhere in between. The ten-episode season was developed for television by executive producers Seth Rogen & Evan Goldberg (This Is the End, Superbad, Neighbors) and executive producer and showrunner Sam Catlin (Breaking Bad).

The series stars Dominic Cooper as Jesse Custer, Joseph Gilgun as Cassidy, Ruth Negga) as Tulip, Lucy Griffiths as Emily, W. Earl Brown as Sheriff Root, Anatol Yusef as DeBlanc, Tom Brooke as Fiore, Derek Wilson as Donnie Schenk and Ian Colletti as Eugene/Arseface. The supporting cast also includes Jamie Anne Allman as Betsy Schenk, Thomas Barbusca as Chris Schenk, Derek Wilson as Donnie Schenk, Lucas Neff as J.J. James Weaver, Neal H. Moritz, Vivian Cannon, Ori Marmur, Ken F. Levin and Jason Netter also serve as executive producers on the series. Garth Ennis, Steve Dillon, Mark McNair, Michael Slovis and Sara Goodman are serving as co-executive producers. The series is based on the twisted and popular '90s comic book franchise of the same name, Preacher, created by Garth Ennis and Steve Dillon.

The beloved comic book was being set up as a feature film adaptation for many years, with director D.J. Caruso once set to take the helm, working from a script by John August. Sam Mendes and Darren Aronofsky were attached to direct at various points in time over the year years, but the project never got off the ground.
