From Walt Disney Pictures and producer Jerry Bruckheimer, the team that brought you Pirates of The Caribbean: The Curse of The Black Pearl, Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest and Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End, comes the highly anticipated big screen adaptation of the classic video game Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time. Opening in theaters of May 28th, the film is an epic action-adventure set in the mystical lands of Persia and stars Jake Gyllenhaal as Dastan, an orphan who is adopted by the king and raised as one of his own. When a close confidant betrays the King, Dastan must go on a quest to bring the King's betrayers to justice and protect "The Dagger Of Time," a magical weapon that has the power to reverse time and allow its possessor to rule the world. We recently had a chance to speak with the films stars Jake Gyllenhaal, Gemma Arterton and Academy Award winner Ben Kingsley, as well as director Mike Newell (Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire), producer Jerry Bruckheimer and video game creator Jordan Mechner who also wrote the screenplay. They talked about the new film, adapting the story from the video game, shooting in Morocco and working with the legendary Jerry Bruckheimer. In Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time, Jake Gyllenhaal stars as Dastan, a street urchin who after showing valor in battle is adopted by the king as his heir. When the King is betrayed, he teams up with Princess Tamina (Arterton) to rescue the Dagger of Time, a gift from the gods that controls time, from the hands of the villainous nobleman, Nizam (Kingsley) and bring the King's betrayers to justice.
