Michael Bay's Platinum Dunes is teaming up with Paramount Pictures for a sci-fi thriller entitled Raindrop.

Paramount acquired a pre-emptive pitch from writers Jason Pagan and Andrew Stark, who also wrote Almanac for both Paramount and Platinum Dunes. No plot details have been released for Raindrop, except that it will follow a teenage protagonist. The production will employ innovative hand-held camera work techniques similar to those being used in Almanac, which is slated for release on February 28, 2014.

Michael Bay will produce through his Platinum Dunes production company, but no director has been attached at this time. No production schedule was given for Raindrop.

Jason Pagan and Andrew Stark made their writing debut with Almanac, which, like Raindrop, falls in line with hand-held movies that Paramount has been fond of lately, such as the Paranormal Activity franchise.
