by the way, I found this deleted scene from the original 1979 Alien that features the actual "sos" message from the Space Jockeys that is intercepted from Ripley and her crew.

Considering that the Space Jockeys are going to be the centerpiece of the new film......could this be a preview of what to expect, at least in terms of vocals, from the alien race??

Either way, its an interesting scene.....check it out.

Ridley Scott actually filmed this in 3D with the Red Epic Cameras and the 3ality 3D camera rig, so I can guarantee it's going to look absolutely fantastic both ways.

I'll definitely see it in 2D my first time because I prefer 2D......but there is no doubt in my mind that I will return to see it in 3D for a *totally different experience.*

In fact, I think this is the first true "thriller" that will be released with current 3D technology that will be *PROPERLY* made in 3D.

I personally dont understand why 3D gets such a bad rap because when it is done *right* it can deliver a complete different and unique experience when comparing it to the 2D version. While I will always be a fan of 2D, and perhaps enjoy 2D a bit more, I cant deny that 3D can, on occasion, look absolutely phenomenal, as well as be a completely immersive experience.

A perfect example of this, other than Avatar, is actually HUGO. That is a film that, without question, looked ten times better in 3D than it would have looked in 2D. That is a film that was MEANT to be seen in 3D.

I find it hard to believe that you can expect anything less from Ridley Scott.....especially in the Sci-fi genre.

Therefore, from my point of view, I dont see the problem with having 3D around as long as we will always have 2D, as well. That way we will have two ways of seeing the same film, instead of just one.

Fantastic pre-release marketing campaign going on for this movie... it definitely has my interest sparked. Personally, this is one film that I'm looking forward to seeing in 3D.
