According to USA Today, Queen Latifah, Seann William Scott and Josh Peck are joinging the voice cast of the much anticipated Ice Age 2: The Meltdown.

In the sequel, the Ice Age is coming to an end, and the animals are delighting in their new world: a melting paradise of water parks, geysers and tar pits. But when Manny (voice of Ray Romano), Sid (John Leguizamo) and Diego (Denis Leary) discover that the miles of melted ice will flood their valley, they must warn everyone and somehow figure out a way to escape the coming deluge.

On top of all this, Manfred is worried about possibly becoming extinct.

"Manny believes he's the last woolly mammoth on Earth, and the other animals pitch in to help him find another one," says Carlos Saldanha, who co-directed Ice Age but is helming the sequel alone.

Manfred’s luck changes when they find Ellie, voiced by Queen Latifah. "She's the fun side of Manny," Saldanha explains. "She's a little rounder, with more feminine curves." Or according to Latifah herself, "She's the cutest woolly mammoth you've ever seen. She's my kind of girl, thick and full-bodied."

According to Latifah, Ellie has some issues of her own like she thinks she’s a possum. "She has all these possum-like qualities. She likes to climb trees, hide under rocks and forage."

Ellie feels this way because she has spent so much time with Crash (Seann William Scott) and Eddie (Josh Peck of TVs show Drake & Josh), two fun loving possum who seem to get on everybody elses nerves. "My kids love Josh," Saldanha says. "He's the sweetest, most high-energy guy." As for Scott, "his dude voice is the perfect contrast."

In addition to these three joining the cast, “Tonight Show” frontman Jay Leno will be lending his voice to the role of Fast Tony, a slick armadillo. "He's like a used-car salesman who takes advantage of the coming crisis, like selling reeds to use to breathe underwater," Saldanha says.
