Ray Winstone is in talks to star in the Point Break remake, portraying the veteran FBI partner of Johnny Utah (Luke Bracey).

Gary Busey portrayed Utah's partner Pappas in the original 1991 action-thriller Point Break, although it isn't clear if the character will retain the same name. Gerard Butler is starring as Bodhi in the remake, which follows Johnny Utah as he infiltrates a criminal organization in the world of extreme sports. The original, which starred Patrick Swayze and Keanu Reeves, was set in the surfing world.

Ericson Core (Invincible) is directing from a screenplay by Kurt Wimmer (Total Recall reboot). The writer is also producing alongside Andrew A. Kosove, Broderick Johnson, John Baldecchi and Chris Taylor. It isn't known when production will get under way.

Ray Winstone can currently be seen in Noah, and he next stars in The Gunman.
