HBO is returning Real Time with Bill Maher to the air this Friday without any of its writers in tow. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Maher will be dropping both his opening monologue and his closing segment "New Rules".

Bill will now open the show by heading into the audience to riff with the crowd, utilizing his vast improvisational skills. To pad the show for time, the roundtable discussions will be extended for the duration of the strike.

Maher will not write any material for the upcoming shows himself due to strict WGA guidelines.
